Today we are discussing Microsoft Excel Home Tab. The home tab is such type of tab which you can find every platform of Microsoft Office like MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

Microsoft excel is mainly used for store data in table format and to calculate mathematically.it also used for accounting, checklist, people management Etc.

  • Undo - (Added in 365). (Ctrl + Z). Button with Drop-Down. Allows you to undo changes, even after you have saved the workbook, as long as you are within the undo limits. By default, Office saves the last 100 undoable actions. If you can't undo an action, the Undo command changes to Can't Undo.
  • Redo - (Added in 365). (Ctrl + Y). Button with Drop-Down. Allows you to redo several actions at the same time using the drop-down. The Redo button only appears after you've undone an action.

Clipboard

You can display the Clipboard Task by clicking on the dialog in the bottom right corner of this group.





Paste -Button with Drop-Down. The button will paste the current contents from the clipboard. The drop-down contains the commands: Paste, Paste Values, No Borders, Transpose, Paste Link, Use Text Import Wizard, Paste Special and Paste as Hyperlink. The As Picture extension includes Copy as Picture, Paste as Picture and Paste Picture Link. which commands are enabled will depend on the type of object that has been copied.

Cut - In Excel, the "Cut" option is used to move a selected range of cells or an object from one location to another. Here's how you can use the "Cut" option in Excel as per belove:

1. Select the range of cells or the object you want to cut in excel.
2. Right-click on the selected range and choose "Cut" from the menu bar. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + X" to cut the selection from cell.
3. Move the cursor to the destination where you want to paste the cut cells or object in sheet.
4. Right-click on the cell where you want to paste the cut cells or object and choose "Insert Cut Cells" or "Insert Cut Cells" from the menu. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + V" to paste the cut selection.

Note: If you use the "Cut" option to move cells, the original cells will be removed from their original location and pasted to the new location. If you use the "Copy" option instead, the original cells will remain in their original location and a copy of the cells will be pasted to the new location.

Copy - To copy and paste cells, rows, or columns in Excel, you can use the following steps:

1. Select the cell, row, or column that you want to copy.
2. Press "Ctrl" + "C" on your keyboard or right-click on the selected area and click "Copy."
3. Move your cursor to the new location where you want to paste the copied cell, row, or column.
4. Press "Ctrl" + "V" on your keyboard or right-click and click "Paste."

Alternatively, you can also use the "Copy" and "Paste" options from the Home menu in Excel by following these steps:

1. Select the cell, row, or column that you want to copy.
2. Go to the Home menu in Excel.
3. Click on the "Copy" icon in the Clipboard group. The icon looks like two overlapping sheets of paper.
4. Move your cursor to the new location where you want to paste the copied cell, row, or column.
5. Click on the "Paste" icon in the Clipboard group. The icon looks like a clipboard.

Note that copying a cell, row, or column in Excel will create a duplicate of the original data, which can then be pasted into a new location.

Format Painter - Format Painter is a tool in Microsoft Excel that allows you to quickly copy and apply formatting from one cell or range of cells to another. This can save you time and effort if you need to apply the same formatting to multiple cells or ranges of cells in your spreadsheet.

To use the Format Painter tool in Excel:

Select the cell or range of cells that has the formatting you want to copy.

Click on the "Format Painter" button, which looks like a paintbrush, in the "Clipboard" section of the "Home" tab.

The cursor will change to a paintbrush icon. Click and drag the paintbrush over the cell or range of cells where you want to apply the formatting.

Release the mouse button to apply the formatting to the selected cells.

You can also double-click the Format Painter button to apply the formatting to multiple ranges of cells without having to click the button each time.

Note that the Format Painter tool only copies formatting, not formulas or values. If you want to copy both formatting and content from one cell to another, you can use the "Copy" and "Paste" commands instead.
